최근 침엽수 제재목 가격 급락으로 건설 비용 하락에 도움이 되고 있지만, 몇몇 다른 건축 자재 가격의 큰 상승으로 상쇄되고 있다고 NAHB (National Association of Home Builders)는 발표하였습니다.
아래의 10가지 품목들은 2021년 현재까지 계속해서 가격이 상승하였고, 최소 30% 이상 상승하였습니다.
- Steel mill products (제강 공장 생산품)
- Building paper and building board mill products
- Asphalt (아스팔트)
- Plastic water pipe (플라스틱 수도관)
- Fertilizer materials (제비 원료)
- Laminated veneer lumber
- Thermoplastic resins and plastics materials (열가소성 수지와 플라스틱 제품)
- Structural metal joists and concrete reinforcing bars (구조용 금속 조이스트와 콘크리트 보강재)
- Wood window and door frames
- Copper pipe and tube (구리관과 튜브)
2021년 1월에서 7월까지 이들 생산품들의 가격은 2020년보다 여러 번 더 상승하였습니다. 일부 품목의 2020년 가격은 안정적이었지만, 2021년에는 실질적으로 상승하였습니다.
2021년 4월에서 7월까지 20% 넘게 가격이 상승한 9개의 품목은 아래와 같습니다.

- Building paper & building board mill products
- Fertilizer materials
- Plastic water pipe
- Fabricated structural metal
- Other engineered structural wood members
- Copper pipe and tube
